6 Things You Don’t Ever do in Grenada

In Grenada there are some things you should never do, some are illegal and some are just not the norm. Six of these are

1- Hunt and kill a Grenadian dove – this is illegal, the Dove is the national bird of Grenada and should not be hunted. If you are visiting Grenada please take note.

2- Stir Oildown –  If you do not know how to make Oildown, please ask! We are quite friendly and will surely help you out. I can’t even fathom the thought of someone stirring oildown…..?!

3- Hunt Outside of “Hunting Season”– Hunting manicou and Iguana in Grenada is a favourite pastime. However, hunting should only be done during hunting season to allow for Iguanas and Manicous and anything else that are normally hunted to reproduce.

4- Cook Oildown or Soup without Dumpling – Oildown without dumpling, what are you thinking? In Grenada you don’t ever cook oildown or soup without dumpling.

5- Drive without a License – This one goes without saying and carries stiff penalties. Please be guided accordingly!

  1. Litter our beaches – please take only photographs, leave only foot prints.
