Kizzy Rennie

Kizzy is currently a Mandarin translator and Food Blogger with a keen interest in Food Science.

Seven years ago, Kizzy Rennie moved to China to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science but left with a couple other things including a renewed faith in God, deeper understanding of cultural tolerance and a love for food blogging. In 2015, she combined her passion for scientific research and creative arts to start Isle of Bites, a food blog which highlights the Grenadian food scene and fosters an appreciation for local cuisine ‘from garden to tabletop’.

Life as a food scientist includes regulating food quality and safety as well as product development and processing, all of which she has dabbled in. Currently, she is employed as a Mandarin translator which affords her the opportunity to utilize this difficult yet beautiful language and become a more effective communicator. However, food science remains her first love. In addition to Isle of Bites, she stays active in the field by assisting and supporting local agro-processors and other food entities.
