Kate Skeeter Lewis

Kate Skeeter Lewis is the Minister within the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & The Arts with responsibility for Youth Development. she is also the parliamentary representative for the constituency of St. Andrews North-East Grenada.

I’m from the beautiful village of Paradise in St. Andrew. I’ve lived my entire life in an area of Paradise called ‘Chocolate City,’ formerly known as ‘The Cocoa.’ With regards to my educational background; I obtained my pre-primary, primary and secondary school education at the Paradise Preschool, St. Andrew’s Methodist Primary School and St. Joseph’s Convent-Grenville respectively. I graduated from the T.A. Marryshow Community College in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Social Sciences. In 2005, I completed my Associate Degree in Teacher Education at TAMCC, and I obtained my Qualified Teacher’s Certificate from the University of the West Indies that same year. Then in 2014, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at UWI and graduated with First Class Honours. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree.

As it relates to my professional life, I am a Minister within the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & The Arts with responsibility for Youth Development. I was a teacher for seventeen years. I started off at the Holy Innocents Anglican School, and then I moved to the St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School, and then finally to the St. Joseph’s Convent-Grenville where I spent the most time teaching. At SJC-Grenville, I was the Volunteer Teacher for the Junior Achievement Program for ten years, and we won six Company-of-the-Year titles and represented Grenada in the worldwide competitions in Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, and Jamaica.
